Music
Music touches the very heart of our humanity and a sense of the wonder of music has touched human societies throughout history. Music education offers young people the chance to understand, perform and create in an aural dimension that often sits outside our capacity to describe in words. For many pupils, the music they love will be part of the narrative of their lives and bring colour to the experiences that shape them.

Musician of the Month
In September 2023, we began focussing on a Musician of the Month. We begin and end our Worships with their music and talk about how the music makes us feel, about the rhythm and what it reminds us of.
Our current musician is Ralph Vaughan Williams and our favourite piece is Lark Ascending.
It is believed to be written in response to his experiences as a soldier in WW1 and is beautiful, gentle and poignant. It is said to be the only bird flying about the trenches.
